Dr. Suja Ali

Dr. Shuja Ali joined Inveniam in April 2026 and brings a wealth of experience in investing and managing companies, having spent the past twenty-five years in private equity, real estate, venture capital, and restructuring as a principal investor. He spent a decade managing Istithmar World, the government of Dubai's private equity and real-estate funds. Following the restructuring at Istithmar World in 2009 and being appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO), he reported directly to the Board of Dubai World and was responsible for all aspects of managing the fund of over $10bn across a diverse set of geographies, asset classes, and sectors. His specific focus was to marry the financial/ leverage aspects of each investment with its operations and strategic plan to maximize exit value.

Prior to investing, Dr. Ali held several key executive positions including setting up of the Dubai office for The Monitor Group, Founder of The Sajo Group and Zeborg, as well as McKinsey & Company, Mitchell Madison, and Broadlane. Before this he was a physician in the British NHS, trained in general surgery. He has been a member of the Board of Directors and non-executive committees of a number of privately held assets ranging from healthcare, retail, banking to name a few.

Dr. Ali gained his Master's degree in public and private management (MBA) from Yale University, and his medical degree (MBBS) from St. George's Hospital Medical School, University of London.
