Shell Phelps comes to Inveniam with over twenty years of extensive human resources experience. She is recognized for her distinguished HR thought leadership influence and her passion for shifting and shaping positive company cultures.
Ms. Phelps started her HR career back in 2000 where she worked for a local women’s homeless shelter in Flint, MI. Her dedication to helping people led her to pursue a graduate degree in psychology where she opened her own private therapy practice for several years. Combining her skills and passion, Ms. Phelps returned to HR to further bridge the gaps between employees and leadership teams by creating and using one-degree shift strategies.
In March of 2020, Ms. Phelps published her proven one-degree shift strategies into the popular self-help book, The Book Bliss Blueprint, 100 Little Thoughts to Build Positive Changes. This book went on to win several writing awards, including the winner of the AmericanBookFest.com in psychology and mental health category as a national and international award. Notably, it also won a 5-star review from Readers Favorite award.
Ms. Phelps is a committed HR professional who has held previous HR director positions. She was also co-chair of the GASHRM Mentoring Committee for three years in Ann Arbor, MI. The local chapter of SHRM.
Ms. Phelps holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology along with a specialty credential as a Certified Professional from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).
